Associate Professor Reuben Ng from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) has been awarded the prestigious Nurkse Visiting Professorship, becoming the first Singaporean to receive the honour. Conferred by the Estonian School of Governance, Politics and Society at Tallinn University, the professorship is a prestigious global recognition in public administration.

As the 2026 Nurkse Visiting Professor, Associate Professor Ng delivered a series of lectures in Estonia on Singapore's approaches to population ageing, behavioural insights and Smart Nation policy implementation. The appointment fosters international academic exchange and recognises his contributions to advancing research and policy discussions on public sector innovation and governance.

At LKYSPP, Associate Professor Ng's research examines ageing, behavioural science and public policy, drawing on AI and data analytics to better understand societal perceptions and inform evidence-based policymaking. His interdisciplinary work has earned international recognition and reflects NUS' strengths in research that addresses real-world challenges and shapes public policy.
