Catalist: A platform for growth firms or ICU for mainboard patients?

Assoc Prof Mak Yuen Teen from the Dept of Accounting and final-year BBA (Accountancy) student Mark Lai, both from NUS Business School, discussed their study of the companies that transferred from the Mainboard to Catalist between 2015 and 2018. They found that less stringent listing rules on SGX's second board adversely affected investor protection and the quality of the issuers, which could in turn harm its reputation.
