Common tropical fruit bat species in Singapore might face extinct risk due to urbanisation

A team of NUS researchers has found that the effective population size and genetic diversity of the Sunda fruit bat has shrunk significantly over the last 90 years. This study showed that the current biodiversity crisis may be much broader than widely assumed.
