Contention between centralisation and decentralisation, as triggered by COVID-19

Prof Zheng Yongnian from the East Asian Institute at NUS opined that the COVID-19 crisis has triggered debate on whether China’s centralised system of governance has contributed to the spread of the virus. He said that future reforms in China should involve aspects of both centralisation and decentralisation.
