Coral nurseries bloom under special care in waters off the coast

A team of marine biologists from the Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) of NUS are tending to tiny fragments of coral at two coral nurseries off Lazarus Island and Kusu Island, with the hope of raising them into larger colonies that can be used for reef rehabilitation. These fragments were sourced from coral which was in the way of a port development in Tuas. The project headed by Prof Chou Loke Ming, Adjunct Research Professor from TMSI, is funded by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
