Duke-NUS: Test for Covid-19 antibodies a world first for Singapore

Prof Wang Linfa, Director of the Emerging Infectious Diseases Programme at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) led a research team to develop a test for COVID-19 antibodies. The research team came up with two tests from samples of the live virus – a quick and dirty one with about 90 per cent accuracy and a recognised gold standard test that requires four to five days in a high level 3 biosafety laboratory.
