Embattled China knows its national priority is the economy

Prof Bert Hofman, Director of the East Asia Institute at NUS, discussed the proceedings of the National People’s Congress, as well as Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He opined that these sessions signal that China’s focus is on the economy, notwithstanding controversy over a Hong Kong security law and brewing tensions with the US.
