Families can’t be left to bear sole brunt of caregiving burden
Research by Assoc Prof Angelique Chan and Asst Prof Rahul Malhotra, both of the Centre for Ageing Research and Education at Duke-NUS Medical School, found that family caregivers spend, on average, 39 hours a week on caregiving – nearly equivalent to a full-time job. They opined that taking a multi-sector approach to caregiving can lead to a higher quality of life for caregivers and their care recipients.
