Findings of NUS study contribute towards development of new backpack for soldiers

An NUS study led by Assoc Prof Lee Heow Pueh from the NUS Faculty of Engineering found that between 1997 and 2015, the average height, shoulder breadths and waistlines of Singapore men have increased. The NUS team was involved in the design of a new backpack that aims to take the weight off the shoulders of soldiers and enable them to fight better and for a longer period.
