Health insurers ought to pay a price for IP rider debacle

Assoc Prof Lawrence Loh, who is Director of the Centre for Governance, Institutions & Organisations; and from the Dept of Strategy and Policy at NUS Business School, opined that while competition in the insurance industry has solved the problem of overcharging and benefited policyholders, it has created another problem: the over-provision of benefits which has resulted in a financially unsustainable situation for the insurers and everyone else.
