Hornbill gets new lease of life with prosthesis

The Keio-NUS Connective Ubiquitous Technology for Embodiments Centre (Keio-NUS CUTE Center), the NUS Smart Systems Institute (SSI) and the NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) collaborated with Jurong Bird Park and The Animal Clinic, to fit a 3D-printed prosthesis on top of the bill of a great pied hornbill, which has an aggressive form of cancer on its casque.
