Hyflux’s board ticked boxes but let down stakeholders

Assoc Prof Mak Yuen Teen from the Dept of Accounting at NUS Business School opined that many companies, like Hyflux, fail to recognise flaws in their boards and how these flaws can affect board culture, behaviour and dynamics, which in turn adversely affect board effectiveness.
