Improving quality of life for the elderly through industrial design

NUS industrial design students, Mr Alex Teo He Chang and Mr Kevin Chiam Yong Sheng have developed product designs to address the elderly’s daily needs. These include UNI Lamp – a smart bedside lamp which provides a better bedtime experience for the elderly, and Flex – a modernised walking cane which improves mobility for the elderly. They also developed LOOP – a stylish air cushion that promotes micro exercise movements for the elderly, together with NUS industrial design students Mr Anthony Yu and Mr Lim Yong Kang.
