Improving regulatory transparency

Assoc Prof Mak Yuen Teen from the Dept of Accounting at NUS Business School noted that Singapore’s financial watchdogs show their teeth, but appear to lack bite. He felt that there remains a lack of public enforcement actions against key players in the corporate governance ecosystem, such as director, auditors and sponsors.
