NUS e-Open House 2021: Four things to look out for

The 2021 NUS e-Open House will soon be kicking off, with plenty of activities in store for prospective students from all over the world.

The online event, which attracted more than 3 million participants last year, will introduce the wide variety of options available in terms of education, student life, residential options, global exposure, and entrepreneurship and industry programmes.

Learn more about the newly-launched College of Humanities and Sciences, the new Common Curriculum for incoming students from NUS Engineering and NUS Design and Environment, and the move to broaden the number of students shortlisted for NUS Law.

The event from 27 Feb to 6 Mar will provide something for everyone. Here are four things to look out for:

1. Webinars and talks to provide a taste of academic life and programmes

Tune in to webinars and talks by all the schools and faculties, which will give an overview of the enriching courses they have on offer.

The eight-day long event will not only focus on the University’s academic offerings, however. Gain an insight into the variety of other programmes available, such as the NUS Overseas Colleges, Student Exchange Programme, and career readiness programmes by the Centre for Future-ready Graduates.

2. Engage students and professors through live chats and online forums

To get the inside scoop of NUS life, take advantage of the multiple live chats and online forums organised by all the schools, faculties and programme offices. Professors will introduce the unique pedagogy of the University, and students and alumni will share about how their NUS education has opened doors for them. Employers will explain why NUS ranks ninth among all universities worldwide for graduate employment, and how nine in 10 graduates were employed within six months – all despite the current pandemic.

The University’s programmes will develop your critical thinking, open your mind, and prepare you for your next phase of life – be it joining the workforce, starting your own business, or undertaking any passion project that you may desire. Explore the endless opportunities at NUS.

3. Experience life on campus through virtual tours

NUS life isn’t just about lectures, tutorials and lab sessions. Join virtual tours of the campus, and find out about on-campus residential options and student organisations such as cultural and sporting groups.

The tours through our Halls of Residence and Residential Colleges will provide glimpse of the facilities of the “home away from home” for many of our students. Residents will share about the highlights of campus living.

Find out more about all the ways our students enrich themselves outside the classroom – and of course let their hair down. There is never a boring day at NUS!

4. Dedicated hotlines to answer queries

Got any burning questions? Don’t keep it to yourself. The various faculties and NUS Office of Admissions will also be providing hotlines to call for any questions you may have, either about their individual programmes or about admissions in general.

With the exciting line-up, there really isn’t a good reason to miss out. Download NUS Undergraduate Admissions App (Android and iOS) and get the latest updates on the happenings around campus, new courses, and helpful links and information about NUS. And of course see you at the NUS e-Open House!
