NUS researchers make inroads into combating drug-resistant malaria

A team of researchers from NUS discovered 124 protein targets of the anti-malarial drug artemisinin in Plasmodium falciparum, the most pathogenic malaria parasite to infect humans, as well as the mechanism that activates the drug’s deadly killing effect.
