One impact of HDB cooling measures is cut in consumer spending
Visiting Prof Sumit Agarwal and Assoc Prof Qian Wenlan from the Dept of Finance at NUS Business School noted that results from their study on the precise impact of HDB cooling measures suggested that restricting access to home equity reduces consumer spending, especially among people facing low credit limits or those concerned about future spending uncertainty.
