Smart nation would need strong pull factors to attract local talents in returning from overseas

NUS Deputy President (Research and Technology) Prof Ho Teck Hua, who was the first scientist to return to Singapore under the National Research Foundation’s Returning Singapore Scientists Scheme, shared that family ties and career development opportunities are the common push factors that have drawn Singaporean professionals based overseas home, and that the government has been playing an active role towards this in recent years.
