Success rate of "Go-South" policy for Tsai Ing-wen

Dr Chen Gang from the East Asian Institute at NUS noted that the “Go-South” policy adopted by Taiwan's pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party to reduce the economic reliance on mainland China had been largely unsuccessful in the past, and opined that Taiwanese President-elect Ms Tsai Ing-wen’s enhanced “New Go-South” policy has the potential to be an effective strategy for Taiwan.
