Superbugs - why they matter to Singapore

Associate Professor Hsu Li Yang from the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health opined that there is a great need to reduce inappropriate use of antibiotics and to develop cost-effective and easily implemented alternatives substituting antibiotics as growth promoters in the agriculture and aquaculture industries. He added that it is in Singapore's interest to work with regional and global partners to strengthen and share antimicrobial resistance surveillance data and capabilities.
