Taiwanese democracy following the deconstruction of power

Professor Zheng Yongnian, Director of the East Asian Institute at NUS, observed that Taiwan’s democratisation process has been relatively rational and peaceful. However, he opined that thought should be given as to how democracy can continue to develop in a sustained manner.
