Teochew immigrants 'life' in letters

The second Teochew Festival, managed by Assoc Prof Lee Chee Hiang from the Dept of Chinese Studies at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, will include a display of a selection of letters from overseas Chinese in the 1800s and 1900s which were often sent with their remittances. These letters are important artefacts that shed light on the lives and struggles of the nation\'s Teochew pioneers.
