The days of smoking cigarettes are numbered in Singapore

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death worldwide, and governments across the world envisioning a tobacco-free future are implementing tighter measures to either increase the minimum legal age of smoking or reduce the number of available public spaces to smoke. Assistant Professor Yvette van der Eijk from the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health comments on how Singapore is well-positioned to achieve a tobacco-free future.
