US-China relations can no longer go back to the way they were

Prof Zheng Yongnian from the East Asian Institute at NUS discussed the deterioration of US-China relations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He elaborated on two great areas of tension since the outbreak of the pandemic – the name and origin of the coronavirus, and the media war – and opined that these are but symptoms of a larger conflict, including the US’ fears of being replaced by China.
