Emeritus Prof Wong Sek Man elected as Fellow of the International Society for Plant Pathology
NUS Emeritus Professor Wong Sek Man from the Department of Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Science has been elected as a Fellow of the International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP), which promotes the worldwide development of plant pathology and the dissemination of knowledge about plant diseases and plant health management. Every five years, the ISPP Council selects members of the ISPP for the fellowship in recognition of their contributions to the worldwide development of plant pathology.
Prof Wong is a globally renowned plant virologist whose research focuses on the molecular biology of plant viruses, discovery of new viruses, virus detection, replication and translation mechanisms and synergism in virus-virus, and virus-host interactions for management of plant viral diseases.
