NUS team won the Gold Award at the eLearning Forum Asia 2023

The NUS team behind the online multiplayer game, “ChemPOV”, has won the Gold Award under the Exemplary Teaching and Learning Award category at the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) 2023 for the relevance, significant and uniqueness of the project. Established in 2019, eLFA aims to recognise, reward and share exemplary practices among the eLearning communities across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Mainland China, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and the Philippines.

Dr Fung Fun Man from the Department of Chemistry under the Faculty of Science led the team while Associate Professor Lam Yulin from the Department of Chemistry and Associate Director Mr John Yap from NUS Information Technology were the co-Principal Investigators of the project. Developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to help bridge the gap between virtual and face-to-face education, “ChemPOV” allowed students to compete, strategise and interact while navigating chemical synthesis challenges.
