Pakistan taking expensive gamble with China investment deal
Mr Sajjad Ashraf, Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS discussed the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) since its launch during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Islamabad in 2015. Mr Ashraf noted that the CPEC was expected to bring various units of Pakistan together in an integrated economic and communication framework but has instead fanned provincialism and discord, for now.
