Prof Lam Khee Poh wins IWBI Global Educator of the Year Award 2025
Professor Lam Khee Poh from the Department of Architecture and Department of the Built Environment in the College of Design and Engineering at NUS has been conferred the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) Global Educator of the Year Award 2025.
IWBI is the global authority for advancing healthy buildings, organisations and communities by using the WELL Building Standard (WELL), a framework to create and certify spaces that advance human health and well-being. The IWBI Global Educator of the Year Award honours Prof Lam for his outstanding commitment to WELL education.
“I am utterly humbled and deeply honoured to receive the Global WELL Educator Award 2025. It has been an immensely fulfilling journey which started some four decades ago, working with PhD students on research and imparting newfound knowledge to generations of architecture and built environment students around the world,” said Prof Lam.
He added, “I enjoyed working with IWBI and the Well Living Lab colleagues and thank them for keenly supporting my educational endeavours. I am grateful to the National University of Singapore for the opportunity to continue to develop and deliver the “Well & Green Built Environment” curriculum as part of the MSc (Environmental Management) programme and as an Elective offering for the MSc (Sustainable Healthcare) Programme.”
A Provost’s Chair Professor and an internationally renowned architect, Prof Lam specialises in life cycle building information modelling and computational design support systems for total building performance analysis and building diagnostics. He teaches architectural design, net zero carbon developments, and “Well & Green” built environment. Beyond teaching, Prof Lam has consulted on several award-winning buildings in Singapore, China and the USA, and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards such as the Alexander Schwarzkopf Prize for Technological Innovation.
