Reading culture and education important in promoting Malay literature

Dr Azhar Ibrahim from the Dept of Malay Studies at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences discussed the challenges faced by enthusiasts of Malay literature, as well as the role of the government and educated elites in promoting this field.
