The roles and reality of Singapore's Elected Presidency
Dr Kevin Tan from NUS Faculty of Law noted that we should not expect major changes to Singapore’s Elected Presidency as it is a limited exercise in fine-tuning, rather than a comprehensive review of the system. He opined that whatever the Constitutional Commission’s recommendations, and Parliament’s decision thereon, the Elected Presidency system looks set to be a key part of our political landscape for the foreseeable future.
