The role that cryptocurrency plays in the new financial era

Prof Duan Jin-Chuan, Director of NUS Risk Management Institute and Jardine Cycle & Carriage Professor of Finance at NUS Business School opined that governments can consider and study the use of cryptocurrency in addressing the issue of counterfeit currency that many central banks face. He noted that the execution would face many challenges, hence this should start on a pilot basis and to adopt strict encryption measures.
