Prof Ooi Beng Chin elected as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Lee Kong Chian Centennial Professor Ooi Beng Chin from NUS School of Computing has been elected as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He was one of the 30 academics recognised for their significant contributions to the field of science and technology in China and are holding high academic status internationally. The appointment is one of the highest accolades presented to non-citizens by the People's Republic of China.

Prof Ooi said, “I am elated to be elected as a Foreign Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and hope to continue providing technical leadership to advance the research in AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing, and application areas such as Healthcare and Finance in Asia.”
