Dr Neo Mei Lin named Pew Fellow for Marine Conservation

Dr Neo Mei Lin, Senior Research Fellow at the NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute has been selected by The Pew Charitable Trusts as a recipient of the 2021 Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation.

Dr Neo is the only representative from Singapore to receive the Fellowship since its inception in 1996. The award will support Dr Neo’s research on threats and opportunities regarding giant clam conservation in Southeast Asia. She will examine current patterns of giant clam harvesting, consumption, and trade, as well as identify areas where giant clam species and populations are most at-risk. She will also convene a first-of-its-kind regional workshop focused on management and protection of giant clam species.
