Asst. Prof. Pieremanuele Canepa from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the College of Design and Engineering has been recognised by the American Chemical Society (ACS) as a rising star in Materials Science. The rising stars list includes 17 early career materials researchers from around the world, who are conducting impactful research in the field.

At NUS, the Canepa research laboratory leverages the synergy between high-throughput computations and the power of supercomputers and scientists for the discovery of novel materials and molecules. The models derived from this research contribute to the rational design of new electrode materials, such as ionic conductors and liquid electrolytes for energy-dense and sustainable energy storage systems.
