Prof Lim Chwee Teck conferred prestigious WACBE Distinguished Lecture Award

Professor Lim Chwee Teck, NUSS Chair Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Design and Engineering and Director of the Institute for Health Innovation and Technology at NUS, has received the 2026 World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (WACBE) Savio L-Y. Woo Distinguished Lecture Award in recognition of his pioneering contributions, leadership and lasting impact in biomedical engineering. 

The award celebrates Prof Lim’s internationally acclaimed work in mechanobiology, microfluidics, wearable biomedical technologies and translational health innovation, as well as his strong commitment to mentorship and scientific leadership. His research has deepened understanding of disease biomechanics and led to new approaches for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment, with outcomes that include patented technologies, licensed innovations and spin-off companies translating research into real-world healthcare applications. 

Presented at the 12th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering 2026 in Changzhou, China, the award is one of the highest honours conferred by the WACBE.
